It’s time to stop culture war politics and address the real concerns of our residents, such as healthcare, education, and economic stability. Rachel is committed to shifting the focus back to policies that improve the quality of life for everyone in our district. Let's get back to work on the issues that truly matter!

 

Healthcare Access and Affordability for All 

  • Address healthcare disparities and ensure access to affordable healthcare for all Floridians.

  • Ensure low-income individuals and families have access to the quality healthcare we all deserve. 

  • Support initiatives to reduce prescription drug costs and increase transparency in healthcare pricing.

  • Ensuring women have access to their private healthcare choices. Support Amendment 4!

 

Education Funding and Reform

  • Fight to preserve our beloved local schools in District 16 through advocating for increased funding for public schools, including teacher salaries, classroom resources, and school infrastructure. 

  • Promote equitable access to quality education, including early childhood education and vocational training programs.

  • Address issues related to standardized testing, school accountability, and student performance metrics.

 

Economy and Job Creation

  • Support policies to stimulate economic growth, attract investment, and create job opportunities across various sectors. i.e. Economic Development Ad Valorem Tax Exemptions

  • Prioritize workforce development programs, apprenticeships, and job training initiatives to equip Floridians with the skills needed to get jobs high-demand industries.

  • Addressing income inequality and advocating for fair wages, benefits, and workplace protections for workers.

 

 

Environmental Protection and Climate Resilience

  • Address the impacts of climate change, including sea-level rise, extreme weather events, and environmental degradation.

  • Promote clean energy solutions and renewable energy sources to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and transition to a more sustainable energy future.

  • Protect Florida's natural resources from pollution and overdevelopment, including its waterways, wetlands, and coastal ecosystems.

 

Public Safety and Justice System Improvements

  • Promote options to help reduce recidivism rates in our criminal justice system and address underlying issues such as mental health disorders and substance abuse.

  • Strengthen community-police relations which is critical for improving public safety and reducing crime rates.

  • Advocate for responsible firearm ownership and comprehensive firearm safety measures.

  • Work towards a balanced approach that respects the rights of responsible gun owners while prioritizing the safety of the community.

  • Support evidence-based policies that have been proven to enhance community safety.

 

Rising Housing Costs and Homelessness

  • Housing Development: Allocate funding and provide incentives to encourage the development of attainable housing units, particularly in urban areas where housing costs are highest.

  • Supportive Housing Services: Invest in supportive housing programs to provide individuals experiencing homelessness with access to stable housing and wraparound support services.

  • Homelessness Prevention Services: Implement homelessness prevention services to help individuals and families at risk of homelessness maintain stable housing and avoid eviction.

  • Zoning and Land Use Policies: Review and revise zoning and land use policies to help facilitate the develop affordable housing and promote more inclusive communities.

 

Championing Equality for All, including the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities

  • Advocate for policies that promote equality, inclusion, and social justice for all Floridians, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, or socioeconomic status.

  • Anti-Discrimination Legislation: Advocate for the passage of comprehensive anti-discrimination laws that prohibit discrimination based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, and other protected characteristics in housing, employment, public accommodations, and other areas.

  • Hate Crimes Legislation: Support measures to enhance penalties for hate crimes targeting individuals or communities based on their race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other protected characteristics.

  • Community Engagement and Empowerment: Support initiatives to empower BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities to participate in decision-making processes and advocate for their needs and priorities.
